Abstract:
Load Testing 101

A well-planned load test provides a wealth of information. It compares performance before and after changes to the system, provides information about the load the system can take before breaking, and hints at how much time you have before needing new hardware. However, in spite of all the valuable data that is available, very few companies load test because they do not know how and many companies who do load test are doing it wrong.
This session will outline the proper way to load test and outline several proven blueprints you can follow depending by your budget and available time. You will learn about common mistakes people make that invalidate load test results and how you can avoid them. Finally, we will show you how to analyze the results to make solid conclusions about your system. At the conclusion of the session you will have the knowledge necessary to execute a successful and valid load test in your environment.
